The problem is that port API changed at about guile-1.3 (maybe 1.3.2 ??).
This is why it will not compile with current guile. I have informed the
guile-pg maintainer, but got no answer.
Since then I have hacked guile-pg to work with reasonably current snapshots,
but will have to get approval to publish my changes. You may be able to fix it
yourself, look at the current port code and the description in NOTES.
I compiled against postgres 6.5.3, but had identical symptoms, so I do not
think the change to postgre 7 is an issue.
