Perhaps I misunderstand something, but does this mean it would be
better, for hair-splitting political reasons, to recreate some/all of
the work done by the people at Sourceforge and graciously donated to
the software community?
well, i'm not in the gang-of-four (or is it six now? :-), but i do know
that the sourceforge software is indeed available under GNU GPL to be
installed on the GNU machines; virtually zero re-implementation is
required. in fact, such an installation helps improve the sourceforge
software by exposing system dependencies, further validating the free
software model, etc. for more info, see:
