    Couple of problems... First, I don't think mingw is an officially supported platform for gdb/insight. You need to use the cygwin version of the build. Gdb is POSIX *only*.
    
    Second, the build problem is not in insight (or even gdb). It's in BFD. You need to talk to the binutils people.
