If you are seeing messages like "A problem internal to GDB has been detected..." it is no lie. This is a message from GDB's varobj system. I know there's been quite a bit of churn in this area in the weeks surrounding the release. Your best bet is to try and isolate this in the console and report it to gdb.
FWIW, I am not seeing this with CVS HEAD right now. [Although I am seeing a lot of DWARF warnings...]
