Subject: The difference between "Remote" and "GDBserver"

In Target Settings, what is the difference between "Remote" and "GDBserver"?

Have a read of the manual.

No, I don't think that explains it. In fact, gdb doesn't make a distinction between GDBserver and (other kind of) Remote at all, as far as I can tell.

But perhaps this has something to do with it?

You don't need to use the |load| command in GDB when using gdbserver, since the program is already on the target.
