You need to do:

./configure --enable-jemacs

(In 2007 I made --enable-jemacs no longer be the default.)

I guess there won't be a lot of difference if I used the precompiled
kawa-1.11.jar from the website?
That has jemacs compiled.


It will be over a year old, so it make have some bugs that are fixed in
the sources,
