I tried the current (as of 12hours ago) CVS version on alpha and
didn't succeed at all:
/home/jaeger/egcs-1.1b/bin/gcc -nostdlib -nostartfiles -r -o /home/jaeger/buildreport-glibc/19981023/libc_pic.os \
-Wl,-d -Wl,--whole-archive /home/jaeger/buildreport-glibc/19981023/libc_pic.a
/home/jaeger/buildreport-glibc/19981023/libc_pic.a(s_ustat.os): In function `__syscall_ustat':
__syscall_ustat:2: multiple definition of `__syscall_ustat'
/home/jaeger/buildreport-glibc/19981023/libc_pic.a(sys_ustat.os):__syscall_ustat:2: first defined here
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [/home/jaeger/buildreport-glibc/19981023/libc_pic.os] Error 1
I hope that this can be fixed before the release of 2.0.99. Richard,
did you try to build the current release with Ulrich's inline patch?
Andreas
