I've been using glibc-linuxthreads-2.1.3pre2.tar.bz2.

python: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.1.3' not found (required by /lib/libpthread.so.0)

That was after I backed-off libc.so.6 to 2.1.2.
