Jakub said he does something similar for x86.  Anyhow, the inline
limits in gcc definitely need tweaking and if something like the code
in ld.so fails to work (functions explicitly marked inline are not
inlined) I consider it something which has to be fixed in gcc since
otherwise there will be many more problems like this.
