Will do. 

I hope you did not assume that the addendum to me previous email was in
any way my request to apply those patches. They were merely there to 
ease the burden on anyone wishing to reproduce the problem.

I will push the patches forward in the method you have suggested :)

I'm currently rebuilding with --disable-shared to see how far the build
goes.
