Strange getifaddrs issue on SMP machines

When I run "make -j 4 check" on SMP machines, I get

Timed out: killed the child process
make[4]: ***
[/export/build/gnu/glibc-3.4/build-x86_64-linux/inet/test_ifindex.out]
Error 1 Timed out: killed the child process
make[4]: ***
[/export/build/gnu/glibc-3.4/build-x86_64-linux/inet/test-ifaddrs.out]
Error 1 make[4]: Target `xtests' not remade because of errors.
make[4]: Leaving directory `/net/gnu/export/gnu/src/glibc/libc/inet'
make[3]: *** [inet/xtests] Error 2

at random. Both tests call getifaddrs. Is this behavior expected?

H.J.
