Hi,
Dear diary, on Thu, Oct 12, 2006 at 05:32:21PM CEST, I got a letter
where Chandru <chandru@in.ibm.com> said that...
> I had a problem of " grep -i < greater than or equal to 8 byte string
> > < a specific file on my system>" used to throw the following
> error on my system with glibc-2.4.90-22.
those version numbers are almost meaningless, they are just arbitrary
points of time chosen by your distribution and we have no way of knowing
what they correspond to. There were some changes in malloc() during
summer and at one point the allocator was fairly broken. So you need to
find out the CVS of what date each of those glibc version uses, then
compare those two versions. You might also find
http://repo.or.cz/w/glibc-cvs.git?a=shortlog
useful.
