Getting patches applied

  Hi!

There are various patches that lie around for long time and never seem
to get any feedback or get applied. Two random examples:

	http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=6812
		patch available since Aug 2008
	http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=10851
		patch available since Nov 2009

I'm pretty sure I have seen more. I wonder what shall we do with these
patches? Would it be ok if I just go ahead and commit them after some
period if I think they are good to go? Of course for these individual
patches, someone with already-established commit permissions could
commit them, but it doesn't seem there is anyone with enough time to do
that regularly.

  Kind regards,
