Can we get the test to fail gracefully when the user running the test
lacks supplementary groups?
This is always the case for me, and it's therefore a very annoying and
completely unnecessary testcase failure that's been plagueing the tree
for more than a month.
It seems as if there was an intention to fix this, but the discussion
trailed off at the end of July.
