We have scripts in intl/ for testing that use:
${objpfx}tst-gettext > ${objpfx}tst-gettext.out ${objpfx}domaindir
e.g. tst-gettext.sh
Which has argument *after* redirection.
Why? I find this style uncommon and prone to confusion.
I like the redirection to be the last thing in the list.
When is the above useful?
