Yes, I guess it's much too late to start changing translatable strings
for 2.18. I'll update these patches for the 2.19 cycle.
Is it too close to the freeze for the ldd try_trace portability patch
[1] as well?

I returned an assignment form almost a week ago, but I haven't yet
received confirmation from FSF.
