HJ, the whole point of changing ASSEMBLER to __ASSEMBLER__ was that
you don't have to define __ASSEMBLER__. gcc does it automatically
when you feed it an .S file.
In the big Makefile rewrite I posted last week was a change that
simply deletes that -D switch.
