I'm looking into this now. Linux 2.1.126 had some changes in binfmt_elf (part
of the MIPS merge by the looks of things) that seem to cause the problem -- I
just backed them out of my copy and all is well. But on another machine I'm
running plain 2.1.126 with an older glibc (2.0.95) and that seems alright as
well.
