That still doesn't answer the question. Is it logical to assume
symbols should export backwards even when the dynamic libraries are
associated via a link rather than a dlopen? If we disallow that
behavior we risk breaking software other than linuxconf (although
I can think of another case at the moment). However as a matter
of programming technique it would be nice to know if we currently are
too strict with our handling of dynamic libraries.
