IIRC, there 's a cool hack in the LD.SO loader that would gleefully print
out a list of all the libraries being loaded as the binary starts up. This
was the exact mechanism I used to fix and solve the problem with SO40. 

Something like LD_DEBUG I think, is the key to solving the problem.
