Re: [sg]ethostid(3) and FHS

   Hi!

/var/adm does not exist in FHS for quite some time, yet
   sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/gethostid.c still references (/var/adm/hostid),
which means gethostid and sethostid don't work for quite some time.
Any ideas on what's the best path to replace it with?
   >From quick skimming of FHS 2.1 it looks like /var/lib/hostid or
   /var/lib/misc/hostid could be ok...

We use /etc/hostid on the Hurd, which makes sense to me since in the
absence of a *real* hardware serial number (which we probably don't
really want) it basically becomes a system configuration thingy.
