I'm using glibc-2.11.1-2 on an archlinux 32-bit system.
I have the following locale set:
LANG=en_US
LC_CTYPE=de_CH.utf8
LC_NUMERIC=de_CH.utf8
LC_TIME=de_CH.utf8
LC_COLLATE=de_CH.utf8
LC_MONETARY=de_CH.utf8
LC_MESSAGES=en_US.utf8
LC_PAPER=de_CH.utf8
LC_NAME=de_CH.utf8
LC_ADDRESS=de_CH.utf8
LC_TELEPHONE=de_CH.utf8
LC_MEASUREMENT=de_CH.utf8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=de_CH.utf8
LC_ALL=
Now the gnome clock applet calendar shows the start of the week on Sunday
instead of Monday. To fix this, I had to add these three lines to
/usr/share/i18n/locales/de_CH :
week 7;19971130;4
first_weekday 2
first_workday 2
somewhere between "LC_TIME" and "END LC_TIME". (I got them from
/usr/share/i18n/locales/de_DE).
Now it works! Monday at the beginning, as it should be, here in switzerland...
