Strangely ths code is in newlib 1.8.0 for this one, the machine_dir appears to be set correctly in newlib/configure.in but the symbol is simply not in my installed libc.a. I am going to rebuild this toolset to watch it more closely but I thought someone might have a suggestion. Thanks. --joel
