- Subject: FYI: An article about SystemTap in the Linux Magazine
One of my colleague by the name Steve Best has published an article
Titled "Peer into the kernel with SystemTap" in this months issue of
Linux Magazine. Linux Magazine doesn't make the articles available
online for few months, but it is available in the newsstands now.
On Newsstands Now
The June 2006 issue of Linux Magazine is now available!
* The System Tracing and Profiling framework, or SystemTAP,
simplifies tracing of the Linux kernel, collecting data that can
be analyzed separately and at a later time. With SystemTAP,
thereÕs no need to instrument, rebuild, reinstall, and reboot
kernels (often repeatedly) to collect vital data.
* If you need to share your code with others Ñ either down the hall
or halfway around the globe Ñ git repositories are perfect. In
addition, git provides many features that simplify collaboration,
including topic and tracking branches, merges, a Web interface,
and more. Learn how to publish your repositories and move code to
and fro in this hands-on guide.
* Understand your data and control the operation of MySQL with
information_schema and strict mode, respectively, two new
enterprise features introduced in MySQL 5.
