I subscribed to the systemtap mailing list and received the Welcome message which said, among other things:

end mail to the following for info and FAQ for this list:
   <systemtap-info@sourceware.org>
   <systemtap-faq@sourceware.org>

I took this to mean that one of these addresses was intended for asking basic questions so I posted some installation questions to systemtap-info@sourceware.org

Nowhere in the welcome message that I could find is it mentioned that if you want to post to this mailing list you need to use systemtap@sourceware.org. This fact is not mentioned on the Systemtap web site either.

For newbies like myself, I think you should at least put this basic information in the Welcome mail.
