Message-ID: <39490B8A.A7286779@shebs.cnchost.com> After more than two years in the works, Xconq 7.3 is now available for downloading! ftp://sourceware.cygnus.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.3.2.tar.gz This release features a totally rewritten Unix GUI, a Windows port, support for Civ-type games (variable-size cities, technology tree, alternate combat model, etc), active independent units, and many many smaller improvements. At present, only the sources are on the ftp site, but I expect to put up Mac and Windows binaries soon. (In case anybody is wondering, 7.3.0 and 7.3.1 had bugs.) The sources are at ftp://sourceware.cygnus.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.3.3.tar.gz while the compressed patch (8K) is ftp://sourceware.cygnus.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.3.2-7.3.3.patch.gz Stan From shebs@shebs.cnchost.com Wed Dec 20 21:59:00 2000 From: shebs@shebs.cnchost.com (Stan Shebs) Date: Wed, 20 Dec 2000 21:59:00 -0000 Subject: Xconq 7.4 Released! Message-ID: <3A40E8C1.3CDFF9F@shebs.cnchost.com> This release rolls up the last six months of development work: ftp://sourceware.cygnus.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.4.1.tar.gz This release features Hans Ronne's new Tolkien-inspired game "Lord of the Rings", Keir Novik's "Carrier Battles" and "Coral Sea" game, ability to see all units in a stack, more flexibility when starting up network games, better feedback when units can't do things, isometric map display (Unix only), and many Mac interface improvements. There are also a number of smaller changes, see the NEWS file for details. At present, only the sources are up for ftp. Mac binaries will follow soon, but at present there is no one planning to make a Windows binary. Since this is something that you can easily change in the Get Info box, there's no need to re-download, and the version number doesn't change. Also, I prepared a new series of screenshots, showing off Hans' many improvements to the Mac interface; check 'em out at http://sources.redhat.com/xconq/mac.html Thanks for the bug reports, and please keep them coming in!
