This snapshot features many fixes listed as necessary for 7.2, including
cleanup of Imakefile problems, consistent doc and sources, and view
painting fixes. There are two new tables, body-height and weapon-height,
plus a unit property fire-angle-max, which all work together to allow
ranged weapons to fire over intervening hills.
There are also several incompatible user-visible changes. First,
under Unix, misc files, including saved games, go into ~/.xconq by
default. The env var XCONQHOME overrides, so "setenv XCONQHOME ."
gives the old behavior. This change is to keep misc files from
cluttering current directories, and to keep from losing if the current
dir is not writable for some reason.
The second change is a change to the format of scorefiles. You
will have to delete any accumulated scorefiles. The next snapshot
may also have some incompatible scorefiles; I'm still experimenting
with the format. The goal is for 7.2 to have a useful score list,
so any input is much appreciated.
Thirdly, the syntax of unit actions in saved games is different
(simpler), so a game saved under .89 cannot be read by .90.
