Do you have a stack trace? Or a Dr. Watson file? It really does sound like a memory leak in the OS, which is really easy to do in Windows. I'm not an expert in Win32, but I've done a little work in it. I'm still trying to get a VC++ compile of the code to run, with several false starts so far.
