It does. The default wrecked type for any sort of wreckage is still 'wreck-type', both in the case where there the default value is found in a special wreckage table, and in the case where there is no special wreckage table.


I believe I mention this in the documentation and/or announcement of the the special wreckage tables.

so that the game designer can use one table for everything if he
wants to make things simple.

Yes, the code should already do that, and I made the behavior that way for precisely this reason.
