Is there something you are not telling us? When I run this:
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
<xsl:template match="html">
<xsl:copy-of select="."/>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>
on this:
<test>This is <html><a href="link">test</a>.</html></test>
I get this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>This is <html><a
href="link">test</a>.</html>
