Jonathan,
Best to send "how to" questions to the XSL-list@mulberrytech.com
in the future, but I believe what you're looking for can be
done with either:
generate-id()
or with:
position()

Subject: <xsl:eval/>
Hey there,
I've been poking around and can't find what <xsl:eval>
has been replaced with...
I use it in the following context:
<xsl:for-each select="//REPORT/TESTTAG">
<xsl:element name="H2">
<xsl:attribute name="id">header<xsl:functions>childNumber(this)</xsl:functions></xsl:attribute>
<xsl:value-of/><xsl:eval>childNumber(this)</xsl:eval>
</xsl:element>
</xsl:for-each>
This is a test program, but basically, at work I need to give unique Id's to DIV and FORM tags
such that 'forms' for different "subjects" can be hidden or shown depending on what the
user chooses...above, I have uniquely numbered simple <H2> tags. However, the xsl:eval
function has been removed and it doesn't process properly. What is a new scheme for
obtaining childNumbers?
Thanks.
