This template rule never fires, because the source document doesn't contain
any elements that are children of an <author> element. So the whole document
is being processed using the built-in template rules, which do a recursve
descent of the document, outputting only the text nodes.

(It feels odd to sit here reading the titles of a random pile of books that
were cluttering my desk around a year ago when I wrote this example. I guess
I asked for it.)
