XSLT Stylesheet for HTML elements to XSL:FO?

Hi All,

I'm working on writing some XSL:FO stylesheets, so that I can generate PDF
files from our XML.

A lot of our XML files contain HTML formatting elements, such as ol, ul, li,
p, etc. This was done as a convenience to implement some basic formatting
requirements.

Of course, this always transformed well to HTML, by the use of a simple
"passthrough" template.

But now that the target is XSL:FO/PDF, it's more difficult, since those HTML
elements don't exist in XSL:FO.

While I know it's not that difficult, just a little time consuming, to
provide mappings for those elements to XSL:FO, I'm emailing the list in the
hope that someone knows of/has written a stylesheet that already contains
these HTML -> XSL:FO mappings.

This is further complicated by the fact that the current tool I'm using,
FOP, doesn't fully implement the XSL:FO spec. I'm just starting with XSL:FO
(which is a jargon-filled beast), and haven't yet got my head around the
"right" way to do things. What seems the "right" way may indeed be "right",
but may or may not be implemented by FOP.

Any help much appreciated.

TIA,

Alan Kennedy.
