Merging XML and assigning Stylesheets

I found a very useful article in the June 6th edition of XML Magazine
that explains how to use a stylesheet and a simple XML file that
contains the location of the XML documents you wish to merge the files
together. (article located here:
http://www.devx.com/premier/mgznarch/xml/2001/06jun01/rj0103/rj0103.asp)

For those of you already familiar with this merge process does anyone
know how you can assign a stylesheet to the end result merged document?
I have found that I can manipulate the stylesheet to add a new root
element to my new merged document (very useful if your individual XML
files are different sets of data with different roots) but I question
whether the same type of manipulation can be done to dynamically assign
a stylesheet to the new merged XML.

Thanks!
