Use the FXSL str-split-to-words function. One advantage is that the
delimiteres between words can be many and dynamically specified as a
parameter.
In your case the following transformation:
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
>
<xsl:import href="strSplit-to-Words.xsl"/>
<!-- to be applied on words.xml -->
<xsl:output indent="yes" omit-xml-declaration="yes"/>
<xsl:template match="/">
<xsl:call-template name="str-split-to-words">
<xsl:with-param name="pStr"
select="'Tuesday 26 February 2002'"/>
<xsl:with-param name="pDelimiters" select="',
	 '"/>
</xsl:call-template>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>
produces the following result:
<word>Tuesday</word>
<word>26</word>
<word>February</word>
<word>2002</word>
Cheers,
