RE: Web site

 Rob,
Do you want to fix the FAQ?
I intentionally chnage the name from xfree86-xxx-Prog. XClients is a better
name I think then Programs.

Subject: Web site

The recent Cygwin/XFree 86 WWW site updates mention it is now compatible
with Windows 95 or later but the FAQ at
http://sources.redhat.com/cygwin/xfree/faq.html still states it isn't
compatible in several sections:
1.4 How complete is Cygwin/XFree86?
At present the X11R6.4 libraries clients and servers are functional on
Windows NT, 2000. Windows 95,98 and ME have 16-bit code in their GDI and
we
need help from volunteers to resolve issues on those platforms. The
client
libraries will run on Windows 95,98 and ME, but not the X servers.

1.8 Help, I retrieved the latest version via FTP, and I cannot use X
Server!!!!
If you are using Windows 95 or 98, break out your debugger and start
working
around the 16-bit code in GDI32.dll and kernel32.dll.

2.1 Can I use Cygwin/XFree86?
At this time, Cygwin/XFree86 only supports Windows NT and Windows 2000.
For
purely experimental support for Windows 9x and Windows ME see Shadow
Framebuffer Test 8.

3.7 Will you port XFree86 to Windows, NT, and Windows95?
The Cygwin/XFree86 project has ported XFree86 to Windows NT/2000. See
"How
Complete is it?" for issues with Windows 9x and Windows MW. The
Cygwin/XFree86 project does not plan to port XFree86 to windows 3.11.

Also the download guide at
http://sources.redhat.com/cygwin/xfree/docs/howto/cygwin-xfree-downloadi
ng.h
tml is out of date, all filenames are different now and the rgb and prog
files no longer seem to exist..
