OT for this list. It sounds like you're using an older version of Java
(1.1.x) which required adding classes.zip to the CLASSPATH. In any case,
check out http://java.sun.com for Java-specific mail lists. The
comp.lang.java Usenet groups are quite active. And an excellent first book
for both Java and OO is Bruce Eckel's Thinking in Java -- you can buy it at
the book store or download a free copy from his site --
