RE: shell returns


$ uname -a
CYGWIN_NT-5.0 P450 1.3.22(0.78/3/2) 2003-03-18 09:20 i686 unknown unknown
Cygwin

$ net use
New connections will be remembered.

OK           H:        \\P450\<LONG PATH>

The command completed successfully.

$ net use /delete H:
H: was deleted successfully.

$ net use H: \\P450\<LONG PATH>
System error 67 has occurred.
The network name cannot be found.

$ net use H: '\\P450\<LONG PATH>'
The command completed successfully.

$ ls -l 'H:'
total 0
<list of files>


<LONG PATH> is ofcourse something else.

 If the above doesn't work the same for you,
then go to http://cygwin.com/problems.html and read...

The part after 'Reporting guidelines' should be read thoroughly.

Also try reading up on

$ info bash

Hit TAB key repeatedly so that you reach
  'Basic Shell Features'  then hit the ENTER key...
 Hit TAB aganin -> Shell Syntax +ENTER, TAB -> Quoting + ENTER

Go back with the "u" key (up)
The "?" key tells you more about keys.
NOTE:  C-x  means: hold CTRL and hit x
