Somehow, cygwin thinks your $HOME should be a network path that you don't
currently have connected.  Follow these directions,

> Problem reports:       http://cygwin.com/problems.html

and send the output of 'cygcheck -svr' as a text attachment, so that we
can gather more information to help you.  Also look at the contents of
/etc/profile to see how cygwin normally determines your HOME, to see if
you are doing something odd that sets HOME to the unconnected network path.
