I agree with the advice to use tar, but WinZip does have an option 
to fix this behavior.  From the menu bar, select

   Options -> Configuration -> Miscellaneous

Uncheck the "TAR file smart CR/LF conversion" box.  (Odd use of 
"smart".)  Click OK.
