- Subject: 1.7: rsync "freezes" sending large files
Dear fellows,
Scenario: Cygwin 1.7 as downloaded today; rsync "freezes" sending the second
chunk of data. The first one (or the whole file, if it's small) goes without
problems.
You must look at this:
727 files to consider
Profiles/quafrqef.default/
Profiles/quafrqef.default/cert8.db
98.30K 100% 6.21MB/s 0:00:00 (xfer#1, to-check=676/727)
Profiles/quafrqef.default/cookies.sqlite
198.66K 100% 6.11MB/s 0:00:00 (xfer#2, to-check=671/727)
Profiles/quafrqef.default/extensions.cache
1.20K 100% 37.90kB/s 0:00:00 (xfer#3, to-check=668/727)
Profiles/quafrqef.default/extensions.ini
1.44K 100% 30.57kB/s 0:00:00 (xfer#4, to-check=667/727)
Profiles/quafrqef.default/key3.db
16.38K 100% 347.83kB/s 0:00:00 (xfer#5, to-check=661/727)
Profiles/quafrqef.default/localstore.rdf
18.84K 100% 296.75kB/s 0:00:00 (xfer#6, to-check=660/727)
Profiles/quafrqef.default/places.sqlite
5.14M 100% 1.60MB/s 0:00:03 (xfer#7, to-check=655/727)
Profiles/quafrqef.default/pluginreg.dat
7.85K 100% 20.49kB/s 0:00:00 (xfer#8, to-check=654/727)
Profiles/quafrqef.default/prefs.js
24.10K 100% 58.11kB/s 0:00:00 (xfer#9, to-check=653/727)
(no problems here)
Otherwise, in a file that requires a big transfer (it's a existing one, but
with a whole new content):
6288 files to consider
./
Miranda IM/
Miranda IM/miranda32.exe
391.21K 70% 210.69kB/s 0:00:00
(locked forever)
No Ctrl-C, Ctrl-Z, Ctrl-[. Zero (0%) CPU consumption. Only closing the
window to kill the process.
Server keeps reading, waiting for Cygwin process to send something.
I've suspected of SSH of being the culprit, but look at this, transferring
the same file to the same server using Cygwin's scp:
bash-3.2$ scp miranda32.exe xxxxx@xxxx.yyyy.com:
miranda32.exe 100% 545KB 38.9KB/s 00:14
Client environment: Windows Vista X64 SP1, 4GB RAM, Core2Duo 2GHz
Hope that helps,
Best regards,
Ricardo Almeida
