Hi Dave...
 
What about a different approach...Just an option to ignore checking dependencies
for the remainder of this setup run.
 
Then you run through an uninstall everything you want and just rerun setup
in case there are any loose ends.
 
You could have whatever mechanism you want to enable it from the gui.
 
You could have a switch for it too.
